Bitter Tuesday, But Better Days Ahead

Ok, so Karl Rove did not get indicted. So what that he is going to attack Democrats. And so what Bush took a surprise trip to Iraq. We're going to hit the Republicans back hard--even harder. The problem for the GOP is that they still have to face the issue that will make them split apart, immigration. Yes. If there is a wildcard that still makes the situation even fluid, it is the issue of immigration. You've got the House GOP, which wants the more restrictive immigration control--and you've got the Senate GOP, which means that they want to have a comprehensive immigration on the floor for this year right before elections. I still expect a nasty fight between the GOP. It will get ugly. Bush has had a good five days, but it is best to get it out of the way early instead of late September or October. Remember, things are going to change from time and time in the next five months. The focus is going to be more of the independent voters, who are going to swing this election forward. The approval ratings for Congress is below 25%, which is one reason why the American people are still disgusted with the current situation.
