This was the Christmas episode. And we are starting to see another element of Jasmine. She is very religious, and out of her mind if you read the comics. She has the sermon about Christmas, but more importantly, about the tradition of Christmas. Meanwhile, Riley hates Santa Claus. The reason is that he wants Santa to "pay him what he owes." And to Riley's perspectives, he "is due" for a lot of things. But if you take a look at Tuesday's comic strip version, he is owed "a butt whooping" by Santa. But back to the cartoon version, Riley gets a BB gun and starts shooting the man playing Santa Claus at a mall with a lot of kids. That is not bright. And the thing is that Jasmine is one of the witnesses. Later on, Uncle Rukus plays Santa with a "twist." He also knows that Riley has this attitude of playing Santa. And so he tricks Riley--up to a point. At the end, Riley shoot Uncle Rukus with his BB gun. As for the more settled Huey, he directs and creates a play that is very different from the "tradition." A part of it is all about black Jesus. As a result of his play, his elementary school teacher got fired--but got hired as a college professor at the University of Maryland. With the help of guest voice Quincy Jones, we saw more of Huey's thinking, which would be very critical as the season progresses into the second half.
