There are a flurry of polls that came out this past weekend. Sorry for the wait, but it shows that while the GOP has made some gains, polls show that the Democrats still are likely to make gains in both the House and the Senate.
Pew Research Poll (Released Sept. 14th, 2006)
Preferrence in November 2006 elections;
Democrats: 50%
Republicans: 39%
Advantages:
Republican's only advantage is terrorism and national security. The Democrats have a ton of advantages from Iraq to the economy to social security and the environment. Also, they also have a slight advantage on morality and crime issue.
